We finally had the opportunity to go to our property and we have never been so happy to see dirt! Everything looks so different with the promise of Spring!
All in all, we were amazed by the amount of heat that the cast iron gives off. It was about -3° outside and we could barely stand near it when it was burning hot!

We finally completed our off grid trailer plans! Trying to make a 8’ x 20’ space comfortable and efficient for two people and two dogs is difficult enough! Add in the off grid aspect and it can take an entire pad of graph paper over several weeks!
In part two of this project, we wash off all of the dusts and grim from the wood stove and use furnace cement on the inside walls to seal it air tight!
